Colors and Inspirations from Première Vision 2019

For the best part of forty years the Première Vision exhibition has been the inspiration for the fashion industry with shows in Paris, New York, and Istanbul. For those of you who follow our technology trends in digital printing and imaging, this is not a place to feast your eyes on printing equipment, rather a place where brands, fabric designers, and manufacturers come together to choose the materials for their next season’s collections and be inspired by the color catalogs and textures that are the foundation of the fashion and décor industries.  With over 170 exhibitors, this show draws on the rich New York fashion community, as well as major national brands, as they plan their spring and summer collections.

Highlights from Heimtextil 2019

From January 8 to 11, vendors and buyers working in the digital textile space headed to Heimtextil, the International Trade Fair for Home and Contract Textiles. The event provided an intimate section of digital textile printer companies exhibiting next to textile designers for the first time down in Hall 3.0. While it must be noted that attendance from the digital textile vendors was down this year, Keypoint Intelligence – InfoTrends (InfoTrends) attributes this decline largely to ITMA 2019: the quadrennial textile event taking place in June. While ITMA’s presence may have reduced digital textile machine exhibitor numbers, there were still some noteworthy products on display.

Growth & Creativity – FESPA Digital Textile Conference Milan 2016

How are some of the best known designer clothing brands in the world using digital textile printing? If you want to know, you need to go to Italy, where last month about a hundred attendees met at the nHow hotel in Milan to exchange ideas, network, and hear about the latest in technologies and techniques at a conference sponsored by FESPA. FESPA, the driving force behind this event, has been promoting digital printing of textiles across the globe from Italy to Turkey and China.

Milan is one of the world centers for fashion with many brands headquartered in the city, including Armani, Etro, Dirk Bikkembergs, Dolce & Gabbana, Iceberg, Marni, Missoni, Moschino, Prada Trussardi, Valentino, Versace, and Zegna. About 50 kilometers to the north in the Como region, a large community of suppliers and manufacturers have been serving the fashion and décor industries in Europe and beyond for many decades. These companies as well as local associations helped to sponsor the event. These included Platinum partners EFI Reggiani, EPSON, MS Printing Solutions, and Mimaki as well as FESPA ITALIA Association, Sistema Moda Italia (SMI), and Associazione Italiana Disegnatori Tessili.
