The company invited its partners and industry analysts to share best practices and insights on its latest developments as well as trends in digital publishing and marketing. Several case studies showed how censhare helps marketers and enterprises with the challenges of managing content, associated workflows and distribution processes. On May 22nd, censhare AG, a software provider of business communications solutions for a variety of industries, organized its third Futureday conference (Futureday 2014) after two successful Futureday conferences in 2010 and 2012. More than 400 international experts, analysts, and entrepreneurs travelled to Munich, Germany, to discuss the role of technology on customer-centric corporate strategies and business models.

On Tuesday, marketing automation technology provider Marketo formally began the process of making an initial public offering of its common stock by filing a confidential submission with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for review. If the IPO moves forward, it will reveal insights about Marketo’s strategy and operations and could lead to a flurry of M&A and other IPO activity in this fast growing segment.
The San Mateo, CA-based company has raised over $100 million in venture capital funding since its launch in 2006 and has been an aggressive competitor in the crowded marketing technology landscape. Marketo CEO Phil Fernandez and his team have done a good serving both small-and-medium business (SMB) and enterprise customers by providing a scalable marketing platform with an intuitive interface and a strong network of partners and integrations. According to a press release from yesterday, RR Donnelley acquired the assets of Nimblefish Technologies, a provider of marketing automation software and solutions. From the press release:
R. R. Donnelley & Sons CompanyÂ announced today that it has acquired the assets of San Francisco-based Nimblefish Technologies, a provider of multi-channel marketing services to leading retail, technology, telecom, hospitality and other customers. Nimblefish’s innovative software services include integrating direct mail, email, web, PURL and variable video components into multi-touch, multi-channel customer prospecting and engagement programs.
“Nimblefish will increase the range of multi-channel solutions that we provide to our customers,” said Thomas J. Quinlan III, RR Donnelley’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “The addition of Nimblefish’s innovative products will enable our customers to draw on RR Donnelley for automated programs that touch customers and prospects with intelligent rules-based messaging that is responsive to their interests and actions. This will leverage our extensive digital platform which offers the ability to personalize communications in quantities from one to millions.”
As stated in the press release, RR Donnelley intends to leverage Nimblefish and its marketing automation technology to offer additional cross-media capabilities and services to its customers.
