“Re-inventing Marketing” at the Adobe Summit 2014

On May 14th and 15th, Adobe organized the fourth edition of its European Digital Marketing Summit with the theme “Re-Inventing Marketing”. The event helps Adobe to better equip marketers for the rapid transition to digital, and to better engage with the evermore empowered consumer. The event, staged at the ExCel Centre in London attracted over 3,800 visitors from 47 countries, and represented a 30% increase in attendance compared to 2013.

At the conference, Adobe (and key partners) showcased their technological leadership and brought in a range of interesting speakers to share best practices, insights, and entertainment. Besides the main stage, they offered almost 100 breakout sessions on several topics, ranging from the latest technology trends on mobile, social, and multi-channel, to how enterprises can overcome organizational barriers between CIOs and CMOs.

The Benefits of Working Together – Dscoop EMEA 2013

Dscoop (Digital Solutions Cooperative) is an independent global community of graphic arts business owners and technical professionals who use HP Indigo, Scitex or HP web press equipment. Dscoop was founded in 2005 and after establishing a strong presence in North America it is broadening its reach with the second conference for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa). More than 700 digital print professionals from 36 different countries gathered at the second annual Dscoop EMEA conference. Among them were 400 print service providers, a substantial increase from 200 in the year before. The event titled “Print Grand Prix” ran November 6th to 8th at the Rome Marriott Park Hotel, Italy.

Tag Relaunch Adds Williams Lea Marketing Solutions

Creative services has been a focal point of expansion for document outsourcing providers in recent years, with Williams Lea making the most significant play in 2011. That July, Williams Lea acquired marketing execution and production agency Tag, which delivers marketing communications through a process called “smart centralization” designed to help brands maintain marketing consistency across markets and media. Tag recently relaunched with a full brand refresh, new logo, website redesign, and the integration of the Williams Lea Marketing Solutions team. In addition to these changes, John Paulson has been promoted from CEO for the Americas region to Global CEO of Tag. Peter Zillig and Todd Handcock will work closely with Paulson and continue in their roles as Tag CEO for EMEA and Asia Pacific, respectively, with full operational responsibility for the business and its clients across their regions.

European debt resulting in different speeds of economic recovery

Wherever I go at the moment I hear cautious optimism regarding the European economy and the prospects for business in 2010. Nevertheless there seems to be something troubling people, a sense of unease despite the positive sentiments. A couple of weeks ago someone went as far as suggesting they were seeing a multi-speed recovery in Europe; some markets picking up - others remaining severely challenged.

Today, I thought I’d take the bull by the horns, go one step further and openly talk about the enormous elephant in the room – DEBT.
