A week passed since the successful conclusion of the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta on August 27, 2016. With over 25 product categories such as custom wood working, veneers, flooring, doors, and accessories spread over more than 500,000 square feet. The show drew over 26,000 participants and 1,080 exhibitors some attended educational sessions and most walked the show in search for new product, innovations, as well as sourcing materials for their projects.

Interprint one of the world’s most prominent manufacturers of décor paper for the laminate industry has gone digital. In a press release dated May 5th 2015, the company stated their strategy to use digital printing technology to address the growing demand for shorter runs of décor paper used in the manufacturing process of decorative laminates used for furniture, cabinetry, kitchen counters, doors, and other woodworking applications. Interprint is using the marketing slogan “Hello World!” to introduce its clients to this investment in digital innovation, a KBA RotaJET with a print width of 1.68 meters capable of speed up to 150 meters per minute. This CMYK device is capable of producing over 3.7 million square meters per month (based on a speed of 150 meters per minute, a 1.68 meter width, 2 shifts a day, and 22 days a month operating at 70% productivity).

The International Woodworking Fair (IWF) took place from August 20-23, 2014 in Atlanta, GA. This event brought together woodworking equipment manufacturers of all kinds, and a wide range of related product manufacturers. The event was split between two main halls: one for equipment producers and one for product manufacturers. This show drew attendees from North America as well as from 70 countries around the world. With almost 1,000 exhibitors (of which, 200 were international), the show catered to over 22,000 attendees looking purchase, learn, and explore new innovations in woodworking-related equipment, materials, and services. Key themes at the show were the growing desire for innovation; automation; and the need for education in new business opportunities, technologies, and applications.
