Ricoh Helps Customers See Through the Cloud

So much has been written about the Cloud in recent years that it has begun to take on different meanings that are dependent upon the audience. To some, it’s an irreplaceable tool that makes life easier; to others, it’s a modern but somewhat mysterious form of technology; to still others, it’s simply confusing.

It should really come as no surprise, then, that Ricoh Americas Corporation has launched a new section on its website that helps customers and other organizations demystify the Cloud. Located at www.ricoh-usa.com/cloud, the site is designed to educate Ricoh’s customers on what the Cloud is all about and why it makes sense for their businesses, all in a single location that reinforces Ricoh’s Cloud offerings and expertise.

Visitors to the site will be introduced to five key Cloud workflows that can make a significant difference in enhancing information mobility for any business: Scan & Capture; Store Files; Print from Mobile Devices; Protect your Network; and Backup your Data. Each one includes an overview of what the workflow is, why it’s important, what its advantages are and which Ricoh Cloud product or solution best fits the workflow.

The site also includes a “Quick Links” section that focuses on Ricoh Cloud Products, Mobile Printing Options and Cloud Platforms. Other articles featured on the site include “Managed Document Services: Using the Cloud to keep you informed” and the story of a large national bank that was struggling to manually process and service about 80,000 loans each month until it turned to Ricoh for a solution that would simplify the storage and retrieval of its information.

Ricoh is, of course, no stranger to the Cloud. In August 2013, it unveiled a Cloud strategy designed to help small and medium-sized businesses, schools and other organizations reduce costs and improve productivity by giving their mobile workers instant, remote access to important data regardless of their location. And last July, it released an application that made its multifunction products (MFPs) and business-class printers Google Cloud Print Ready.

There’s no denying that Cloud computing can make workflow a lot easier for businesses. At InfoTrends, we believe this is an area that companies should be putting their resources toward in the months and years to come. In fact, our many writings on the topic include last year’s release of the “Cloud-based Workflow and Infrastructure for Graphic Communications” study (February) and the white paper “MPS – The Shift to Managed IT, Cloud, Mobile, and BPA” (May).
