Ricoh Announces Platform at LegalTech to Enhance Workflows and Reduce Costs for Law Firms

This year at the annual LegalTech show held Feb. 3-5 at the New York City Hilton Midtown, over 100 exhibitors shared the tradeshow floor to demonstrate and display their robust technology geared to help law firms and legal professionals optimize their businesses and workflows. One of the most exciting announcements of the show was Ricoh’s newest offering that they are temporarily calling “Legal MFP”, a platform that can be used on select Ricoh MFP devices to improve end-user workflow while enhancing operational efficiencies, and lowering costs. Samsung Reveals Exciting New Product at Annual Dealer Event

On September 10th through 12th Samsung’s Enterprise Business Division held its annual Print and Imaging National summit for Samsung dealers at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas. The conference was designed to educate attendees on Samsung’s strategy and vision for the future, introduce new lineups of products and technologies, and enlighten dealers on new marketing implementation/execution plans for pushing these new products. Exploring Automation Opportunities within Accounting

InfoTrends recently published an in-depth primary research study on the accounting horizontal within the Business Process Automation Consulting Service. InfoTrends identified five key accounting workflow areas: 1) Sales Operations, 2) Purchasing, 3) Accounts Payable, 4) Accounts Receivable, and 5) Expense Reporting. Within those areas, InfoTrends discovered several major manual processes that demonstrate the biggest areas for automation opportunity for vendors: purchase orders, expense reports, invoices, contract agreement & terms, credit collections, and payments. DCT Reimagining ECM Delivery with SimpleECM Launch

After being in beta for several months, Document Capture Technologies (DCT), creators of SimpleScan Connect, announced on April 29th the release of their SimpleECM solution- “making information available where and when businesses want it”. This enterprise content management platform was created with a “workflow-centric view” of document/capture management and is delivered via standard application programming interfaces (APIs) and cloud-based services. HP at Interpack in Germany: Digital Print for Packaging’ Lots of It!

Hewlett Packard had a big stand at the May 2014 Interpack show in Germany, and used this once-every-three-years trade fair to highlight its far-ranging approach to the packaging market. HP’s exhibit had lots to offer, from production level color printing of flexible packaging, to corrugated displays and cartons, and even to monochrome inkjet package coding.

All this came in the midst of a German show where HP Indigo was something of an outlier exhibitor. Read more »

Xerox Safe Courier

In March this year Xerox announced Safe Courier, a solution developed to help customers transmit documents securely, and directly from a mobile device. Mobility solutions and services continue to rapidly evolve providing real value for business-to-business and business-to-customer engagements.
Recent InfoTrends research into Mobility, Mobile Solutions and Services: Strategies Driving Market Adoption and Transformation, revealed that mobile devices and BYOD strategies are employed widely; however, their usage is far less sophisticated and provides little process integration. Companies like Xerox with the Safe Courier solution are developing ways to utilize mobile devices to automate business communications and processes.

I Want to Print My Mobile Photos – A Windows Phone User’s Tale of Woe

Recently, I have been thinking about printing photos from my smartphone. I have a high-resolution camera phone with some advanced photo features and had taken some pictures that I thought came out particularly well and a few I applied some artsy filters to as well. I wanted to see if they looked as good off screen. As if somehow Snapfish read my mind, the service introduced a promotion to get people printing photos from its smartphone app. The mobile-only promotion offers 100 free prints a month (4 x 6-inch), for one year, for mail delivery only.

Being a Windows Phone user, I went to see if there was a Snapfish app in the Windows Phone store. A search for “Snapfish” resulted in “We couldn’t find a match.” Then I searched for Shutterfly, which found a “Shutterfly” app, which was not from the official Shutterfly but from an unknown developer instead. I even dug far back in my photo print memory and looked up “York Photo” – no match. I expanded the search to “print photos” and a long list of apps came up but only a handful of recognizable brand names — Walgreens and Kodak Pic Flick being two of them.
